After initially working with UCLA to complete a survey of animal movement, Laguna Greenbelt, Inc. carried out an 18-month-long camera-based study in 2017-2018 to better understand wildlife movement inside the corridor. Thousands of photos were produced and analyzed. The results of the study are documented in the link, found below. The results and conclusions of the study inform the ongoing work of the Irvine-Laguna Wildlife Corridor Working Group (link to bios page) in working towards a fully-functional corridor.
Laguna Greenbelt, Inc. is grateful to community members for making this study possible. Our thanks extend to the Laguna Greenbelt Inc. board of directors, City of Laguna Beach for financial support; an army of committed local volunteers, advisors (link to Science Advisors page), professional wildlife consultants, and skilled scientists from the San Diego Museum of Natural History.
